A long-time banker with experience at two of the world's largest financial institutions takes a seat on the Board of Directors of Cembra Money Bank.

With Felix Weber not standing for re-election as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cembra at the 2023 Annual General Meeting, the board of directors is proposing Franco Morra as his successor, the consumer credit company announced Thursday.

Morra is no stranger to the Swiss financial industry, having worked for HSBC Switzerland from 2010 to 2018, including roles as regional CEO of EMEA and CEO of Private Banking Switzerland.

BCG and UBS Careers

From 2005 to 2010, he worked for UBS, initially heading Wealth Management for Western Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. He was later appointed CEO of UBS Switzerland and a member of the UBS Group Executive Board, successfully stabilizing the bank's core businesses after the financial crisis.

From 1992 to 2005, Morra was a management consultant and global partner at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), focusing on strategic repositioning, global growth, operational efficiency, and M&A and post-merger integration projects.

Active Entrepreneur

In 2019, he founded Winsight, a company specializing in corporate and management consulting and board of directors mandates.

Cemnbra said Felix Weber made a significant contribution to the establishment of its brand and successfully developed the business since the IPO, supporting the bank's growth strategy and the expansion of its divisions through important acquisitions.
