Zug-based private markets firm Partners Group appointed a new head of client solutions for Japan. The new hire joins from Apollo Global Management.
Partners Group appoints Teppei Kawai as managing director, head of client solutions Japan, and head of its Tokyo office starting April 1, according to a statement Wednesday.
Kawai will work closely with the existing team in Tokyo to expand the group's presence in Japan, a market Partners Group views as important for the growth of the company. It seeks to expand its relationships with institutional investors and distribution partners.
Kawai, who will be based in Tokyo, has more than 15 years of experience in the Japanese market in private markets and various asset classes. He was most recently at Apollo Global Management as head of client & product solutions, leading capital raising and client services for Japanese investors.
This is Partners Group's second senior-level hire in Japan in six months. Tatsuya Ochi was already appointed head of the direct private equity investment business in August.
