Lugano-based independent asset manager Nemesis Asset Management is expanding to Zurich, according to research by finewsticino.ch. The firm specializes in portfolio management and family office services.

Nemesis Asset Management, which bills itself as a platform with in-depth know-how in servicing South American, Swiss, and Italian private clients through either pure asset management or as a multi-family office, is expanding its operations to Zurich a spokesperson for the company confirmed to finewsticino.ch.

Experienced Financial Professionals

Operational management responsibility falls to Giuseppe Marca, former head of the Andean Community region for Credit Suisse, and lawyer José Marco Casellini. Other long-standing financial professionals sitting on the board of directors include chairman Francesco Magistra and Bernardo Brunschwiler, the former head of private banking for Latin America at UBS who previously held management functions at BSI Bank and PKB Private Bank. 

Alfredo Orelli, a former general manager of BSI Bank, is responsible for private banking in Latin America and Asia. Giampiero Berra of the law firm Gambazzi, Berra is also a member of the supervisory board.

After receiving its Finma license last year, Nemesis took over the business activities of Alma Laghi from Bruno Chastonnay, who is given the task of deepening Nemesis' presence in the Ticino market.

Real Estate Management

Nemesis also acquired the company Newfin at the end of last year, which is headed by Gianluigi Ruggeri. Founded by his father in 1995, Newfin intends to focus exclusively on real estate management and consulting in the future.

It joins other Ticino-based asset managers already present in Zurich City including Colombo Wealth, Copernicus Wealth Management, Crossinvest, and LFG Holding.
