OCBC’s private banking arm has hired a former UBS executive for its Europe business, finews.asia has learned.

Jan Boes joins the Bank of Singapore (BoS) as team head for Europe, effective October 1, sources told finews.asia. Based in Luxembourg, he reports to Lionel Dormann, CEO of the Wealth Management unit in Europe.

Boes has extensive experience in client advisory and client and business strategy for the ultra-high net worth and family office segments in Europe and Asia Pacific. He was most recently working at UBS, where he spent around 19 years, including the past eight in Singapore.

When contacted, a spokesperson for the bank confirmed the hire.

Hiring Spree

Bank of Singapore has been on a hiring spree amid plans to increase the number of relationship managers to 500 and assets under management to $145 billion by the end of 2025. In early August, the bank already added a dozen relationship managers. It recently hired ex-Credit Suisse executive Jacky Ang as its chief operating officer.

The growth plans will contribute to broader goals at parent group OCBC, including the delivery of S$3 billion ($2.2 billion) in incremental revenue during the same period.
