Verena Jäger is moving from Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI), where she currently serves as Chief Risk Officer and Managing Director, as Allianz Suisse announced on Monday. In this role, she is responsible for global risk management for assets under management of more than 650 billion euros. She also sits on the boards of Allianz Global Investors UK and Allianz Global Investors GmbH.

International career in the Allianz Group

The doctorate-level mathematician and actuary specialising in life insurance mathematics has many years of experience within the Allianz Group. Her previous positions include Allianz Capital Partners, the CEO Office of Allianz SE and Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America in the United States.

In addition to her experience in risk and capital management, Jäger therefore also brings knowledge of the life insurance business.

Behr leaves after almost ten years

Monika Behr has been a member of the management board of Allianz Suisse since 2017. Under her leadership, the insurer says, the range of private and occupational pensions was expanded, among other things. In addition, the IT infrastructure was modernised and various processes were digitalised.

After almost ten years at the helm of the life insurance business, she now wants to devote herself first and foremost to her family, her personal development and her professional reorientation.
