Société Générale has appointed a new country head for Switzerland. His predecessor will remain at the bank.

Société Générale Switzerland appointed Hugues de la Marnierre as new country boss, the bank said in a statement today. He will replace Yves Thieffry who recently was elected as chairman of Société Générale Private Banking (Suisse).

De la Marnierre will retain his role as head of corporate and investment banking Switzerland as well as consultant to Swiss banking institutes.

Previous Career

The new country manager joined Société Générale in 2009 as global head of client management. He previously worked for Natixis, Commerzbank and Crédit Lyonnais.

Société Générale in Switzerland has branches in Geneva, Zurich and Lausanne.
