Bank am Bellevue recently started with the development of its own asset management division. It has hired an experienced bank manager from Germany to help put the plan into practice.

Zurich-based Bank am Bellevue hired Klaus Mudra, 54, Germany's «private banking magazine» reported yesterday. He will be in charge of the investment strategy at the asset management division currently under construction.

With the new division, Bank am Bellevue intends to broaden its sources of income. Former UBS manager Christian Zenker is responsible for the construction of the unit.

Experience With Swiss Banks

Mudra joins from Fabricius asset management in Frankfurt, where he was a senior investment professional. Previously, Mudra worked for J.P. Morgan, in charge of investments in Germany and Austria for a select group of customers.

He has also a past at UBS and Credit Suisse. He was head of investment consulting and business development at UBS in Germany and head of investment consulting at Credit Suisse in Frankfurt.
