Singapore-based investment expert Wei Kai Lee has an extensive track record of success with institutional investors in the region.

Vontobel Asset Management announced that it had appointed Wei Kai Lee to replace Ulrich Brehm as the head of the Asia Pacific business, according to a media release sent on Tuesday by the company.

According to Vontobel, Lee will be based in Singapore. He has 18 years of industry experience and brings an extensive track record of success with institutional investors.

Before joining Vontobel, Lee worked at Stone Harbor Investment Partners as a partner, head of Asia Pacific, and co-founder. Previous to that, he was employed at UBS Asset Management in Singapore, where he was a member of the pan-Asia institutional business development team.

Important Initiative

«Expanding our presence in the Asia Pacific is one of Vontobel Asset Management's most important initiatives,» indicated Marko Roeder, the head of the client unit asset management business. 

Brehm is leaving the Asia Pacific to become the lead Vontobel's intermediary and partnership channels in Switzerland. The firm has been present in the Asia Pacific since 2008 and has teams located in Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, and Sydney.
