The new head of HR for ZKB worked for the reinsurer Swiss Re for more than twelve years and before that at UBS.

The Zuercher Kantonalbank (ZKB) appoints Monika Waber as its new Head of Human Resources,  taking over at the beginning of January 2024, and succeeding Peter Luginbuehl, who is retiring.

Waber has over two decades of HR management experience in banking and insurance and reports directly to ZKB CEO Urs Baumann, according to an emailed statement Wednesday.

Experienced Change Manager

She has worked in HR for Swiss Re in Zurich since 2011 and was responsible for the center of excellence for organizational, cultural, and employee development and managed change processes as well as the modernization and digitization of personnel solutions. Waber previously worked at UBS in Zurich from 2000 to 2011.

The current head of HR, Luginbuehl, will continue to manage the area until Waber joins, after which he'll retire.
