Switzerland's largest bank UBS has opened a 1,200-seat support centre on the outskirts of Mumbai to reinforce its global businesses.

Asia's largest wealth manager has initially hired 300 employees to help the group's technology function primarily and will gradually ramp up the number, the bank said in a statement, without disclosing the cost of the investment in the facility.

The new hub will provide knowledge process services, including research and analytics, business process services, including transaction and data processing, and IT infra support to businesses all over the world.
