Swiss fintech firm Contovista has hired a former Swisscom manager to spearhead its expansion abroad.

Contovista, whose software is being used by banks to analyze and customize data produced in the transactions, wants to go abroad after launching its software successfully in Switzerland. For the purpose, the Zurich-based company has hired Gerrit Sindermann, a fintech expert who previously worked for Swiss telecommunications giant Swisscom.

Time to Expand Abroad

The company said it was proud having been able to attract a fintech expert with the pedigree of Sindermann, a manager with a rich business experience. «Having established ourselves as an innovative partner for banks in Switzerland, the time has come to look at European markets,» said Gian Reto à Porta, co-founder and chief executive officer of Contovista, according to a statement released today.

Contovista hired Sindermann to help the company launch their products abroad. He knows all about the complexities of the banking industry and the dynamic conditions of a software firm such as Contovista. Sindermann last was the head of distribution of milliPay, a provider of online payment solution. Before, he implemented mobile-payment solutions with banks at Swisscom.

Experience With Fintech Accelerator

He also has ten years of experience working in risk management and strategy for several banks. Sindermann spent some time at the London-based «Fintech Accelerator», where he got to know progressive companies and business models of the finance industry.

Sindermann has a Bachelor of Business Administration of Frankfurt School of Finance & Management as well as an MBA of IMD International in Lausanne.

Global Demand

«For banks, the white-label solution presented by Contovista is an opportunity to be a front player at manageable cost,» said Sindermann. The customers of Contovista are able to secure their client relations and to develop their future business based on data. «There’s a global demand for this,» he added.
