A top banker at Credit Suisse's Swiss arm is moving to a credit card provider part-owned by the bank. Her current responsibilities including 450 staff are being divvied up internally.

Florence Schnydrig Moser is being appointed as CEO of Swisscard AECS, a Swiss credit card firm co-owned by Credit Suissse and American Express, effective in September, according to a media statement. She replaces Marcel Buehrer, who left the firm last month for other projects.

Schnydrig Moser is currently head of products, investments and marketing, where she oversaw the development and rollout of products in Credit Suisse's domestic arm. As a member of the unit's top management, she also had wider oversight for the Swiss arm.

Successful «Digipigi»

The Swiss banker made waves with the successful launch of a digital piggy bank for very young clients – an effort which Credit Suisse is thinking of licensing outside of Switzerland, unit head Thomas Gottstein told finews.com in an interview last week.

A graduate of Lausanne's prestigious technical university, Schnydrig Moser is an 18-year veteran of Credit Suisse, including in Zurich, Australia, and Hong Kong. The bank won't replace her, instead carving up the product, investment and marketing arm she oversaw. Swiss operating chief Dagmar Kamber-Borens will take on a large part of the job, the bank said.

Schnydrig Moser has already sat on the board of Swisscard, as well as on that of Twint, a mobile payment effort launched by Swiss banks. She will give up both roles in favor of the CEO job.
