A Zurich-based fintech wants to revolutionize the cash dispenser and has now teamed up with an established technology provider in the banking industry.

Sonect joins the platform of Geneva-based banking software developer Temenos, according to a statement it released on Thursday. The deal enables Temenos clients to access Sonect services.

The link with Temenos may be a vital stepping stone for the fintech firm as 3,000 financial service firms across the globe are signed up on the Temenos platform, with some 500 million banking transactions supported by the software.

Strong Investor as Partner

Sonect wants to enable consumers to withdraw with the help of an application and to make the independent of physical cash dispensers. A solution that may also attract the interest of the banking industry, because they have to pay 180,000 Swiss francs ($186,000) for installation of a cash dispensers and a further 50,000 francs a year to maintain the machines.

With Postfinance, the finance unit of state-owned Swiss Post, Sonect has a very strong investor, which is promoting the application among its huge clientele.
