Gentwo, a Zurich-based fintech, has hired an expert lawyer in regulatory affairs to bolster the legal team.

Nicolas Ramelet has joined Swiss startup Gentwo, according to a statement released on Friday. Gentwo offers solutions for the securitization market and Ramelet has worked as an adviser for the firm since the beginning of the year.

Ramelet is an expert in regulatory affairs and, as a pioneer in blockchain regulation, supported a pragmatic approach to regulation of the fledgling fintech industry. He recently was chief executive officer of the Financial Services Standards Association, which, as a center of competence, offers compliance services to financial intermediaries in the parabanking sector of Switzerland.

Bankable and Non-Bankable Assets

The lawyer also has worked for the Swiss banking regulator Finma, which is based in Bern. He studied law at UCLA School of Law and at the University of Bern.

Gentwo enables clients to securitize bankable and non-bankable assets with a Swiss ISIN code and no issuer risk at a minimal price. The set-up for off-balance sheet investment products solves the problem of shrinking margins and growth barriers for in the financial market.
