The manager responsible for the UBS cloud is leaving Switzerland’s largest bank to take over at a renowned Swiss operator of datacenters.

Frank Boller will step down as chief executive officer of Green, a Swiss provider and operator of datacenters, at the end of the year, the company said in a statement on Thursday. Roger Sueess was appointed to take over in his stead as of July 1, 2019.

The new CEO at Green was managing director at UBS, where he acted as head of the cloud business office and was responsible for the cloud strategy and implementation. Sueess, 45, also presided over the infrastructure regions of Switzerland as well as Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Microsoft Rival

UBS has intensified its cooperation with U.S. tech giant Microsoft in the introduction of cloud technology since the end of 2018. The bank has outsourced own capacities to the Microsoft datacenters.

Green was formed in 1995 as a spin-off of the Swiss farmers’ association’s IT department. Today, Green belongs to Infravia Capital Partners, an investment firm.
