Credit Suisse is replacing the management in one of its key European wealth markets, finews.com has learned.

The Swiss bank is naming Mischa Tschopp head of wealth management in Germany and Austria, two sources familiar with the matter told finews.com. Most recently, he was head of Credit Suisse's advisory and sales in Luxembourg.

The Swiss banker replaces Henrik Herr, a veteran private banker who had been with the Zurich lender for 17 years. Herr is leaving his job as well as the bankA spokeswoman for Credit Suisse confirmed the change.

Wealth Veteran

Tschopp is a 15-year veteran of Credit Suisse's wealth arm. Previously, he held management roles in the German and Austrian wealth management markets for the bank, and also spent two years running its international wealth business in Singapore.

The change, effective from January 1, is the second notable one for Philipp Wehle since taking over the international private bank from Iqbal Khan last July. In October, Wehle moved to boost an affluent unit in Europe, under Raffael Gasser, as finews.com reported.
