The Swiss wealth manager is building a new campus in its hometown – the most extensive project in its 215-year history.

Pictet is building a new campus for 3,000 staff in Praille Acacias Vernets, an urban development project in Geneva's Carouge neighborhood. The Swiss private bank chose Swiss architect Inès Lamunière's firm Designlab for the project, it said in a press release on the project's design.

The campus represents the largest project in the history of Pictet, which was founded in 1805. The bank already resides in Carouge, where it built its current offices for 400 million Swiss francs ($423 million) in 2006. The new campus is projected to cost several hundred million as well.

Coincides With Zurich Move

The project's groundbreaking is set for September 2021 and to conclude by 2025. The campus comes alongside an upgrade for Pictet in Zurich as well, where the bank is poised to begin moving into Bahnhofstrasse landmark «Leuenhof,» which was home to now-defunct Bank Leu, later this year.

Pictet's hometown rival Lombard Odier, which traces its roots back to the late 18th century, is undertaking a similarly expansive project in Geneva, as finews.com reported. Mirabaud, which was founded in 1819 in Geneva, inaugurated its current headquarters in 2008.
