The Liechtenstein private bank added a long-standing regulator to its top management to oversee risk management.

VP Bank named Patrick Bont its chief risk officer, effective from November, it said in a statement on Monday. Bont is currently Liechtenstein's chief banking regulator. At VP, he will become the fourth member of top management and oversee all legal, compliance, and risk matters.

Previously, Bont worked for UBS from 2001 until 2009 in various roles in Zurich as well as in Hong Kong, most recently as the Swiss bank's head of business management for legal and compliance in its corporate center division. He replaces Rolf Steiner, who runs VP CEO Paul Arni's office and had taken on the risk role temporarily last summer.
