The Genevan wealth manager broke ground on a new lakeside headquarters for its 2,600 staff set to open in three years.

The foundation for Lombard Odier's new headquarters (visualization below) was laid on Wednesday, it said in a statement. Designed by Swiss star architects Herzog & de Meuron, the complex is set to house all Lombard Odier's employees in Geneva by 2023 – currently, they are dispersed in five different sites.

For the wealth manager, the lakeside offices represent an affirmation of its commitment to Switzerland as well as to Geneva; crosstown rival Pictet is also building a new headquarter in Carouge, as finews.com reported.

The project includes a modular auditorium for up to 800 people, an employee restaurant, gym, and several break rooms. «Our aim is to create a head office that combines technological innovation, flexibility and efficiency, while integrating new ways of working,» partner Annika Falkengren said. It will also set up collaborative working spaces, Lombard Odier said.
