Bordier is enlisting two Credit Suisse private bankers to help expand in the fast-growing Asian wealth market.

Bordier & Cie is expanding its Asia-Pacific coverage with the appointment of Victoria Wu as Swiss head of Asia and Josef Stauber as executive director, the firm told finews.com. Both join from Credit Suisse.

Wu worked in corporate banking for 14 years, chiefly as head of an origination team for trade finance and structured finance at ING, and joined Credit Suisse’s APAC team in 2008, most recently holding the position of managing director.

Stauber started his private banking career with Credit Suisse 10 years ago, also serving the Asia-Pacific market. He has been a key revenue contributor for the Swiss-based APAC team over the last five years and most recently held the position of director.

Important Hires

The bank noted that the Asia Pacific region remains «an unexploited avenue of growth for many banks in Switzerland,» and said that Wu and Stauber (pictured below) will be crucial in helping it build a base of Asian clients in Switzerland.

«[Asia] and especially China – is and will increasingly be important for us and for Switzerland as a whole, given its role as a major private banking hub. However, there are still few people in our country with specific expertise in the Asian market,» Patrice Lagnaux, limited partner at Bordier & Cie and head of the Zurich office, said about the appointments.
