EFG International has appointed a new head of Continental Europe and the Middle East. The banker has 25 years of experience leading the Swiss businesses of international banks, including CA Indosuez and Barclays.
Patrick Ramsey had left his position as head wealth management at CA Indosuez in Switzerland after six years for personal reasons. Now, the Swiss banker is back in the fray. EFG International appointed him to the position of head Continental Europe and the Middle East as well as a member of the global business committee, according to a statement released on Wednesday. The region he will head is the second-largest in terms of assets under management.
Predecessor to Advise EFG
Ramsey will replace Adrian Kyriazi on January 1, 2021. Kyriazi, who has headed EFG’s Continental Europe and Middle East region since 2018, will be stepping down from his position as of year-end 2020. Kyriazi first joined EFG in 2014 as a member of the executive committee and head of the Continental Europe and Switzerland region.
Following the acquisition of BSI, he took over the responsibility of EFG’s Continental Europe and the Middle East region. Going forward, Kyriazi will continue to support EFG as a senior adviser.
Experienced Bank Manager
With his new position, Ramsey will also take a seat on the bank’s global business committee and report to Chief Executive Giorgio Pradelli.
He has more than 25 years of experience in wealth management and private banking. Before joining CA Indosuez, he was country manager of Barclays in Switzerland. And before Barclays, he held similar positions at Merrill Lynch in Switzerland.
