Twint made the temporary head of technology's appointment permanent. The move follows the surprise exit of the previous technology chief four months ago.

The Zurich-based payments service is naming Simon Wehrli its chief information officer, effective immediately, it said in a statement on Tuesday. The Swiss computer scientiest had stepped in temporarily in January when Paul Kreis disclosed his departure after a bit more than one year in the job.

Wehrli has been with Twint since 2017, when he started as a software engineer. He is now part of the Swiss bank-backed start-up's top management led by CEO Markus Kilb, alongside finance chief Anton Stadelmann.
