The Swiss bank bucked the trend of defections with a prominent hire in its capital markets division.

The Zurich-based bank is hiring Emre Gunalp as co-head of its investment bank's diversified industrials team, «Bloomberg» reported. Gunalp will report to Douglas Pierson, who oversees the industrials group in the Americas.

Gunalp returns to Credit Suisse, where he worked from 1997 to 2014, after the past seven years at BNP Paribas in New York. His hire contrasts with widespread defections at Credit Suisse's investment bank following more than $5 billion in losses on Archegos, as well as a $10.1 billion Greensill fund disaster at its asset management arm.
