The Swiss unit of the Generali Group gets a new CEO for Andreas Kruemmel who departs after six years at the helm.

Italian insurer Generali has announced Christoph Schmallenbach as the new CEO of Generali Switzerland, taking over from the departing Andreas Kruemmel, who held the post for six years.

The German computer scientist Schmallenbach was formerly a member of the management board of Generali Germany, with his new role effective February 22, subject to regulatory approval, the company said in an emailed statement.

He was responsible for numerous transformation projects at Generali, including the transition of the exclusive sales force of Generali Deutschland into Allfinanz Deutsche Vermoegensberatung, and the integration and rebranding of AachenMünchener into Generali Deutschland.
