Alpian, Switzerland's first digital private bank, has found an Italian partner.

Swiss fintech Alpian and Italian financial group Fideuram - Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking (Fideuram-ISPB) are partnering to expand digital wealth management offerings, the two institutions announced Wednesday.

The partnership comes after Fideuram - ISPB's equity investment of €19 million ($20.3 million) into Alpian, after the Italian firm identified it as a strategic partner.

 Italy's Largest Private Bank

«We will be leveraging the experience that the team has built while creating a mobile-first digital private banking offering using state-of-the-art technologies,» said Luca Bortolan, head of Direct Bank at Fideuram-ISPB.

«This strategic partnership demonstrates the potential of bringing together a large leading private bank and a new digital private bank to drive value for Fideuram-ISPB’s clients, employees, and stakeholders,» said Alpian CEO Schuyler Weiss.

Milan-based Fideuram-ISPB is part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, Italy's leading private banking provider. At the close of 2021, the company had 341.2 billion euros of assets under management and net deposits of more than 15.7 billion euros.

Alpian received its banking license from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (Finma) in March, making it Switzerland's first digital private bank.
