The Brazilian-Swiss private bank filled a number of roles for its office in Spain, building its team in Madrid.

In January J. Safra Sarasin opened an office in Spain to expand in core European markets. The operation there serves high-net-worth individuals domiciled in Spain as well as institutional clients. To fulfil the goal, the Brazilian-Swiss private bank announced it added several experienced senior bankers in Madrid. 

The most recent hire is Alvaro Nieto, who joins the following bankers:

  • Carlos Clua
  • Juan Manuel Gutierrez
  • Diego Perez Gandarias
  • Miguel de Lugo
  • Jaime Pineyro
  • Asis Pineyro
  • Jose Luis Ruiz

In addition, Remedios Parra has been appointed as a senior investment advisor. The Madrid team of 15 also includes support staff under the branch manager and managing Francisco Gómez-Trenor is tasked with implementing the Group’s growth strategy in the Spanish private banking market.

Since its establishment in January 2022, the business in Spain has grown significantly. Apart from private banking, the Spanish branch also offers services to institutional and wholesale clients, under the responsibility of Belen Rios.
