The asset management arm of Credit Suisse has appointed a new head of active ownership.

Christine Chow joins Credit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM) as managing director and head of active ownership, according to a statement, effective from April 1. Based in London, Chow reports to the global head of sustainable investing Jeroen Bos.

In her new role, Chow will focus on further accelerating CSAM’s efforts in the area of voting and engagement across all asset classes. She will also work alongside Dominik Scheck, head of ESG integration, and Nisha Long, head of sustainability research.

Prior to this appointment, Chow was the head of stewardship at HSBC Asset Management since September 2021. She also held roles at Schroders, Aon (Hewitt Bacon & Woodrow), Federated Hermes, and IHS Markit. In addition, Chow was also an adjunct professor in finance at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and is an Emeritus Governor of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
