For the two founders of Umushroom, Switzerland has become too confining. The former bankers want to conquer European markets with their investment platform.

Luba Schoenig and Tonia Zimmermann met at Credit Suisse, and now the entrepreneurs also want to bring their fintech Umushroom, which they founded in 2020, to Europe, according to an announcement from the company. The startup has been operating outside of Switzerland since the beginning of the year.

Investors in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, the UK, and Spain can now access Umushroom's services, with further launches in other European countries planned for the coming months.

Investment Community

Umushroom is intended as a marketplace where a community of users can exchange information about investments and access professional research and information from providers. Banks, brokers, and asset managers can use the solution as a dashboard and communication channel for their clients. Another important concern of Schoenig and Zimmermann is the transfer of financial knowledge.

It is no coincidence that Mushroom is also targeting partnerships with colleges and universities, where the fintech is seeking to attract a young user base.
