After a four-decade career at UBS, a former executive is finding work on the boards of several companies.

Stefano Veri will join the board of directors of Woodman Asset Management with offices in Zug, Lugano, and Geneva, according to a statement Tuesday. The Ticino native recently retired from UBS, where he was previously a high-ranking executive for over 40 years.

In 2014, UBS appointed him as a group managing director, and he also actively led the transformation of UBS Wealth Management in Switzerland and abroad as a member of several key executive committees, building up in-depth knowledge and understanding of international capital markets and the global wealth management industry.

The Next Growth Phase

Woodman Asset Management, formed out of the acquisition of Ticino-based Pentagram Wealth Management by Zug-domiciled Woodman, is putting that experience to work.

Veri recently took a board seat at Ticino-based PKB Private Bank, as finews.com reported. Veri «will help lead our company’s inorganic growth strategy in the next phase of its development. He also is a board member of Stelinvest and On finance, both located in Ticino, according to his Linkedin profile.

His long experience with a major international financial institution in senior roles, most recently as Global Head of UBS’s External Asset Managers division, will enable Woodman to leverage his unique know-how and experience,» said Patrick Ferrari, CEO of Woodman Asset Management.

In addition, Woodman has appointed general counsel Istarel Brucker (general counsel) to the executive committee.

Brucker joined Woodman in 2020 as legal counsel and assumed responsibility for all legal and compliance matters in March 2021. Before joining Woodman, she worked as legal counsel in EY's Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory practice, where she advised financial and insurance companies on banking and capital markets law.

Before that, she gained experience at a Zurich law firm and as a jurist in the legal department of Julius Baer.
