A Geneva-based managing director at Union Bancaire Privee focused on wealthy clients in emerging markets is leaving after less than a year.

Vikram Gopalakrishnan, who joined the firm in January, and UBP have parted ways, the bank confirmed to finews.com on Wednesday, although they declined to comment on an individual move. The departure was first reported by «Citywire» (registration required).

According to his Linkedin profile, he joined UBP in Geneva in January of this year to focus on ultra-high-net-worth (UHNWI) clients in crucial Emerging Markets. 

Credit Suisse Experience

Before joining UBP, he spent nearly seven years at Credit Suisse in Geneva, beginning June 2016 through January 2023. In 2020, he began managing UHNWI clients as an investment consultant covering Africa and the Middle East.

Before Credit Suisse, he spent ten years at Citi in Geneva and Mumbai and nearly a decade at Deutsche Bank.
