Postfinance Appoints Compliance Expert to Its Board of Directors

At an extraordinary general meeting held on 2 June 2026, shareholders elected Christoph Kurth to the seven-member Board of Directors, according to a statement released on Tuesday. He succeeds Bernadette Koch, who stepped down at the end of March this year and has since joined the Board of Directors of Luzerner Kantonalbank.

Kurth will occupy one of the four board seats designated by Swiss Post and will also join the Audit & Compliance Committee.

From UBS to Baker McKenzie

The 57-year-old lawyer brings more than two decades of compliance experience, with a particular focus on the financial industry. Since 2018, he has been a partner at Baker McKenzie, where he leads the Financial Industry and Investigations, Compliance & Ethics practices in Switzerland as well as across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Kurth held various senior leadership positions at UBS.

Board Chairman Marcel Bührer described Kurth as an experienced executive with broad professional expertise. His extensive background in compliance and the financial industry would provide valuable perspectives for the company’s continued development, Bührer said.

With the appointment, Postfinance is responding to the departure of Bernadette Koch. The company had already announced her resignation at the end of November 2025.
