BCGE Reorganises Institutional Asset Management Business
BCGE has rebranded its asset management subsidiary. Loyal Finance, the Zurich-based asset manager acquired in 2019, will operate under the name Synchrony Asset Management. The new entity will focus exclusively on institutional investors and will provide all of BCGE's asset management activities through a specialised and independent platform, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
Synchrony Asset Management will be headquartered in Geneva and will also maintain a branch office in Zurich. BCGE emphasised continuity, noting that the new structure builds on more than 30 years of experience in index management and quantitative investing. With around 20 employees, Synchrony will manage assets of nearly 9 billion francs.
New Board Members and New Management
The subsidiary's board of directors will be joined by Philippe Augsburger, an independent board member and board member of Compenswiss, as well as Biba Homsy, founding partner of Homsy Legal and an expert in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
BCGE Chief Executive Nicolas Krügel, who also chairs the subsidiary's board, said: «There is significant growth potential for a specialised institutional asset manager. Our new subsidiary has extensive expertise and can rely on the strength of a bank and shareholder with a long-term vision.»
Katia Coudray, Head of Wealth & Asset Management at BCGE, has been appointed to lead Synchrony Asset Management.
