The CEO of Vontobel Asset Management in the US is stepping down.

Thomas Wittwer, CEO of Vontobel Asset Management in the USA is handing over the reins to Melissa Demcsik. Wittwer will remain with the firm until the end of March, Vontobel announced Thursday.

Commenting on Wittwer's retirement after 35 years at Vontobel, Marko Roeder head of client unit asset management said he «has been instrumental in shaping and leading Vontobel's Asset Management business in North America and helped build Vontobel's client-focused investment culture.»

New CEO

Demcsik has been with Vontobel for 22 years where she helped expand firms' multi-boutique business in the United States. She officially assumes the CEO role on January 1. According to her LinkedIn profile, she joined Vontobel in April 2000 and is based in New York. Before Vontobel, she was at Alliance Capital. 

Vontobel's US Asset Management business of Vontobel was established in 1984 to help institutional clients to achieve long-term financial goals.
