A Credit Suisse veteran who was a key figure in steering the bank in Asia during the global financial crisis, has resigned and been replaced with an internal appointment.

Sheel Kohli (pictured above), managing director and head of communications Asia Pacific, has resigned from the role after13 years at the bank, the most memorable of which were spent steering it through the global financial crisis and then when the bank's Asia head Marcel Kreis resigned unexpectedly.
Kohli was also responsible for Credit Suisse's Asian Investment Conference, which has over the years seen the likes of British Prime Minister John Major and Indian central banker Raghuram Rajan and Sir Mo Farah, a quadruple Olympic and five-time world champion, amongst others as key note speakers.
Edna Lam (pictured left), who was until recently head of communications for southeast Asia and spokeswoman for private banking Asia Pacific, will be appointed head of communications in wider Asia Pacific with immediate effect and will continue to be based in Singapore, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia. Lam has been with the bank for over 12 years.
Before Credit Suisse Lam was regional head of communications and public affairs for Syngenta, before that director communications South and Southeast Asia for Visa. She started her communications career with Cathay Pacific and was the corporate communications manager for China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
