Genevan private bank Lombard Odier is expanding its business in the United Arab Emirates by opening a new branch in Abu Dhabi.

The 223-year-old wealth manager said it will open a new office in the United Arab Emirates, underscoring its faith in the region's growth and economic stability, as well as its ability to generate business and wealth.

Lombard Odier said the new office will be located within the Abu Dhabi Global Market, an international financial center. Christophe Lalandre, currently head of Lombard Odier in Dubai, will head up the Emirates branch.

Bridge to Asia

The Swiss bank considers the Emirate one of its fastest-growing business regions, and a bridge between its European operations and those in Asia, run by Vincent Magnenat. Lombard Odier said it is responding to increased demand from Emirate clients, including for private banking onshore.

«Opening a branch office in the United Arab Emirate's capital will bring us closer to our clients, and allow us to serve them onshore with bespoke, local solutions», new markets head Arnaud Leclercq said.
