Zurich-based finance start-up Numbrs won a major German insurer for its finance app. It is the second major German deal for the Swiss start-up.

Munich-based Allianz will distribute a finance app developed by Swiss fintech Numbrs into its insurance solutions, the two companies said. Numbrs previously clinched a similar partnership with Axa's German business.

Numbrs' personal finance app is mainly used in the U.S. and Germany, but the company is based in Zurich. Besides account overviews and personal finance help, Numbrs also provides a so-called money store, where consumers can purchase banking and insurance products from partner firms.

The company was founded by tech entrepreneur Martin Saidler and counts Sir Ronald Cohen, Josef Ackermann and Pierre Mirabaud as well as Dubai's sovereign wealth fund among its investors.
