A former veteran of UBS in Asia will oversee a blockchain start-up's development in the region.
Diginex is hiring Chi-Won Yoon (pictured below) as its chairman in Asia, the Hong Kong-based crypto firm said in a statement. A 22-year-veteran of UBS, Yoon left his job as vice-chairman of the Swiss bank's activities in Asia last year.
Yoon is well-known in investment banking circles: he established the equity derivatives business in Asia, then ran its equities and securities businesses in the region. He also over saw UBS in Hong Kong as its country head.

Swiss Mining Ties
He isn't the first former UBS banker to be hired by Diginex: last year, the start-up hired equities banker Shane Edwards as its head of investment products.
Diginex aims to build a digitalen investment bank, wants to seen a Nasdaq listing via a merger with investment firm 8i, and also maintains ties to Switzerland: according to media reports, the start-up cooperates with Alpine Mining, which mines cryptocurrencies in Gondo, a remote town on the Swiss-Italian border.
