The Genevan private bank is underpinning its ambitions in real estate investing with a new head for Switzerland's largest region. 

Edmond de Rothschild is hiring David Zumstein as its head of real estate investment management for German-speaking Switzerland, it said in an emailed statement on Wednesday. The hire underpins the Swiss bank's expansion plans for the unit, dubbed REIM and with 3 billion Swiss francs in assets ($3.28 billion).

Zumstein was a business developer for Swiss construction firm Losinger Marazzi until January and worked at Credit Suisse's asset management unit from 2011 until 2019, where he has was head of real estate acquisition in Switzerland's French-speaking region. Based in Zurich, Zumstein will report to Arnaud Andrieu, the CEO of REIM in Switzerland.
