The Swiss-Brazilian private bank's top man in the city-state is defecting for a rival.
Vinay Gandhi (pictured below) is leaving his role as Singapore chief at Zurich-based J. Safra Sarasin to oversee Standard Chartered's South Asia private banking segment, effective in the first quarter, according to a statement from the latter bank.
Gandhi advanced to deputy CEO of the wider region last year, after joining J. Safra Sarasin in 2018. He had previously been with UBS as a banker to Asia's super-rich, and before that ran Deutsche Bank AG’s south Asian private banking division in Singapore.
A spokesman for J. Safra Sarasin didn't comment on how the wealth manager plans to replace Gandhi in Singapore.
