The Franco-German financial group expands its management framework in the German private banking business with a new hire - from now UBS subsidiary Credit Suisse.

Oddo BHF has named Mischa Tschopp (image below) head of the Private Wealth Management (PWM) German Client Business. In this newly created position, effective early November, he reports directly to the head of global private banking Joachim Haeger according to an announcement issued by the group on Monday.

On the Hunt

Tschopp will be responsible for expanding its business with private wealth clients in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with the Zurich-based platform to be used more intensively with German clients, the announcement indicated.

Beyond that, he will also extend the group's family office offering and build an acquisition team for key clients.

A Second Coup

Tschopp is leaving Credit Suisse to join Oddo BHF. He had been with what was Switzerland's once second-largest bank for 20 years, his last position being the regional head of the German and Austrian markets while also heading up the German ultra-high-net-worth (UHNWI) business.

It was only a few weeks ago that the group announced that team of six led by Nadine Maier would also join Oddo BHF from CS to focus on managing German UHNWI offshore clients.
