Helvo Launches Neobanking Platform for SMEs
For the Swiss market, Helvo is using Finstar as its core banking system. Various services provided by Hypothekarbank Lenzburg for digital onboarding, account management and payment transactions will be activated gradually, according to a statement. Additional services from the bank — particularly in the card business — are expected to be introduced by the end of 2026.
There is no financial participation between the two companies, a spokesperson for the bank told finews. The partnership strengthens the bank’s Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) business, which is also offered to other neobanks.
Potential in the Neobanking Business
«Swiss SMEs need a simpler way to manage their finances and spend less time on administrative financial tasks. Helvo brings together business accounts, payments, invoicing, payroll, accounting and financial data on a single connected platform, thereby setting a new standard for integrated financial operations in Switzerland,» said Helvo CEO Julien Barbotin-Larrieu.
During the initial market phase, the company will focus on sole proprietorships. Additional legal business structures will be added at a later stage.
With the Helvo partnership, Hypothekarbank Lenzburg is entering new territory. «Our previous partnerships have primarily focused on the retail banking segment. With Helvo, we are expanding our offering into the digital SME segment. Even around ten years after the launch of our first projects, the neobanking sector continues to offer significant innovation potential,» said Silvan Hilfiker, CEO of Hypothekarbank Lenzburg.
