Schroders Expands ETF Sales in Switzerland

The company has appointed Hans-Jörg Morath as ETF Sales Specialist for the Swiss market. The newly created position is intended to help meet rising demand for actively managed ETFs and expand Schroders’ presence in this segment, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

Morath will be responsible from Zurich for the distribution of active ETFs in Switzerland, look after clients and drive the distribution of the relevant products. He has many years of experience in ETF distribution as well as in private banking and wealth management. Most recently, he worked at Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB) in a senior ETF-focused role.

Expansion of the ETF Platform

The appointment comes against the backdrop of Schroders’ expansion of its ETF platform. After the asset manager launched its first two active UCITS ETFs in September 2025, the offering now includes actively managed equity ETFs with a focus on the US, Japan, Europe and global Paris-aligned strategies. This is complemented by a global investment-grade corporate bond ETF. In total, Schroders now manages $4.3 billion in its active UCITS ETFs, according to the company.

“Hans-Jörg’s appointment strengthens our distribution capabilities for active ETFs in Switzerland and brings valuable local expertise as we continue to expand our UCITS platform for active ETFs in Europe,” said Dominik Brunner, Head of Switzerland at Schroders.

Growth Potential in Europe

Schroders sees particularly strong growth potential for active ETFs in Europe. According to the company, the European market for active ETFs has grown to EUR 78.4 billion in recent years, tripling in size.

Schroders is also expanding its sales team at the European level. Most recently, the company appointed Martha Sele as ETF Sales Specialist for France, Belgium and Luxembourg.
