The subsidiary of the German fund house has made several new hires and promoted one of its own.

Allianz Global Investors (Allianz GI) is appointing Michael Schuetze as country head of Switzerland, it said in a statement Tuesday. In his new role, Schuetze will be responsible for business with institutions and banks (wholesale) in the country.

Ex-UBS Banker

Schuetze follows Christian Leger, who left for the US rival Nuveen, as finews.com reported. Schuetze previously headed the institutional client business in Switzerland and has been at the firm for over 25 years.

Furthermore, Mathias Peter will continue to head client services for Switzerland while also sitting on the branch's management board. Markus Lehner joined from Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) earlier this year. Manon Arnoux, who joined from UBS, is responsible for business development with Swiss banks working abroad.
