An annual Swiss blockchain conference is rebranding itself into crypto valley summit. The event features Switzerland's finance minister – and an intentional typo.

Zug hosts the fourth crypto valley summit next week under the #buidl motto. «This year's edition shows how the sector has continued its development in blockchain technology after the market correction during the so-called crypto winter», said Mathias Ruch, founder and CEO of  Crypto Valley Venture Capital, which organizes the event.

Like past events, local and national elected officials will make their way to Zug. City mayor Karl Kobelt will welcome attendees, and Swiss finance minister Ueli Maurer will hold the keynote speech. Switzerland just began consulting on a raft of legislative changes meant to ease life for blockchain firms.

Other prominent speakers expected in Zug include Germany's former deputy chancellor Philipp Roesler, Jorge Sebastiao of Huawei, and Bitcoin Suisse head Niklas Nikolajsen. The event #buidl motto is a sly reference to «hodl», which is crypto jargon – reportedly minted in 2013 by a drunken user – for keeping a digital asset instead of selling.
