The Swiss bank will offer staff who are still commuting to the office free, but not mandatory, testing for the virus.

The Zurich-based bank's employees can take Covid-19 tests regularly for free, «Newsnet» (behind paywall, in German) reported on Thursday. Roughly 15 percent of the Zurich-based bank's 48,800 employees are still traveling to and from the office. The so-called PCR tests are saliva samples rather than nasal swabs.

Credit Suisse, the first big firm in Switzerland to send staff home before the pandemic hit, will not receive individual test results, according to the report. The Swiss government supports companies looking to mass-test their employees in order to identify asymptomatic cases of Covid. In the canton of Zurich, just 20 companies have made use of the aid, the outlet reported.
