Zurich-based wealth manager Zwei Wealth has recruited a top banker with expertise in sustainability as a partner.

Heinrich Hugenschmidt is to become a partner in Zwei Wealth, the boutique wealth manager said in a statement on Tuesday. It added that the move meant the company’s strong growth would benefit from Hugenschmidt’s experience in sustainability, financial planning and dealing with customers in complex situations.

Ex-UBS, Credit Suisse

Hugenschmidt holds a doctorate in sustainable management from the University of St. Gallen and became head of the sustainability program at UBS. He drove forward the digitization of wealth management and became chief of staff at UBS Financial Planning.

He then went on to spend over 13 years at arch rival Credit Suisse advising high net worth individuals and family offices, ending up as CEO of the bank’s Credit Suisse Solution Partners unit.

Growth Drive

The startup co-founded in 2014 by former UBS chief economist Klaus Wellershoff is pressing head with expansion in 2021. The number of advisers is to be increased by 15 to 20, and the proprietary platform is to be developed further.
