6. Patrick Mueller: Hiring Spree In Private Banking

While smaller private banks seek shelter from larger, more financially potent rivals, Zwei Wealth CEO Patrick Mueller is embarking on a recruiting spree. Co-founded with ex-UBS top banker Klaus Wellershoff, the wealth management platform said it hiked its mandates by 75 percent this year. Zwei (the German for «two») Wealth wants to keep up the pace in 2021, by hiring up to 20 new private bankers.

With private banks seeking niches to distinguish themselves from the mass, Mueller's business model is to separate advice, money management, and custody services – and to let clients decide in a «beauty pageant» of financial providers.
