3. Martha Boeckenfeld: Where UBS And Amazon Meet

The German lawyer has done just about everything in finance: top management of insurance (Winterthur), bank CEO (BHF Kleinwort Benson), and board directors (Generali, Unicredit). More recently, Martha Boeckenfeld reinvented herself as a digitization guru, overseeing UBS' platforms and marketplaces since 2019. Her goal? Show Swiss bankers what Amazon and Google can teach finance.

She's set a rapid pace since joining UBS 14 months ago: mortgage platform Key4 launched in June, and later inked partnerships with a start-up, an insurer, and most recently with fintech rival Moneypark. «Money Martha» stands excellent chances of advancing under new CEO Ralph Hamers, who has made modernizing and digitizing UBS a big part of his mandate.
