US fund company Franklin Templeton appoints a new head of distribution in Switzerland.

At Franklin Templeton in Zurich, Christian Leger becomes Head of Distribution Switzerland with immediate effect, responsible for wholesale client distribution and institutional investors, according to an email from the company on Wednesday.

Leger joins from US asset manager Nuveen, where he was managing director and head of Switzerland focused on institutional clients and private wealth investors. Before that, he was the Swiss Country Head and Head of European Banks at Allianz Global Investors. Leger began his career at Capital Group, where he spent more than 17 years in various management positions.

In his new role, he will lead a team of sales professionals in Switzerland in close coordination with regional sales teams.

Franklin Templeton has been present in Switzerland for 25 years. Globally, the company is one of the largest managers of alternative assets globally with $257 billion out of the total of over $1.4 trillion in alternative AUM as of June 30, 2023.
